ABOUT
PARSONS, KANSAS

A Railroad Community

Parsons, Kansas is a railroad town, incorporated in 1871. We grew up (and still live) about a block from St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and we often went to sleep with the sounds of the creaking and clanging of the trains in the background.

Before the advent of the supermarket, there were over 50 grocery stores in Parsons; every neighborhood had one. We don't aim to bring back the neighborhood grocery store, but we do want to bring back the service, convenience, and dedication that characterized these stores. If you want to know Parsons well, come to town for our annual Katy Days festival which is held every May.
